The government approved the export strategy of Ukraine to 2017 — 2021

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at its meeting on 27 December approved the road map for strategic development of the Ukrainian trade for the years 2017-2021. It is reported by the correspondent of the edition «GORDON».

According to the document, strategic objectives of Ukraine are:

  • the creation of an enabling environment that encourages trade and innovation for the diversification of exports;
  • the development of services to support business and trade to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises (including SMEs);
  • strengthening skills and competencies of the enterprises to participate in international trade.

From 1 January 2016 between Ukraine and EU has a free trade zone.

C August 1, 2017 between Ukraine and Canada, operates a free trade zone. Canada opened for Ukrainian exporters 98% of the market of goods which are the subject of bilateral trade.

On 7 September the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that in the first half of this year, the share of the European Union in foreign trade of Ukraine amounted to 40%, whereas in 2009 – 25%, and in 2012 – 30%.

Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine on European integration Olga Trofimova noted strong growth in exports of agricultural products.

Deputy Minister of economic development and trade Natalia Mykolskiy November 4, stated that for eight months of exports from Ukraine to Canada have grown by 74%.

In January–July 2017 Ukraine exported goods for $23,8 billion, and imported $26,563 billion, reported the state statistics service. The Agency noted that in comparison with the same period in 2016, the exports increased by 22.1%.
