The FSB announced the arrest of a Ukrainian, «changed the name to get to the Crimea»

The Federal security service of Russia announced the arrest in the automobile checkpoint «Perekop» Ukrainian citizen who tried to enter the territory of the annexed Crimea, changing the name. It is reported by RIA «Novosti».

Russian border guards stopped the citizen of Ukraine born in 1973 who, at the initiative of the migration service of Krasnodar region was denied entry to Russia until 2019.

The FSB said that the man allegedly «decided to circumvent the ban» and addressed to the Registrar of the city of New Kakhovka Kherson region with the statement for change of name, and then received a new Ukrainian passport.

Now the man is detained, criminal case is brought. He faces a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles or imprisonment for up to four years.

We will remind, in August, the FSB announced the arrest of several people allegedly preparing attacks in the Crimea. It soon became clear that it was the foreman from Evpatoria Andrey Sahtaand the bus driver ATP Zaporizhzhya NPP Evgeniy Panov — later, they accused the FSB of torture. Also the names of two of the arrested were krymchanin Redana Suleymanov and Kharkiv trucker Vladimir Presica.

After this incident, Russian authorities in Crimea regularly report on the detention of «Ukrainian spies and saboteurs». The Ukrainian authorities deny the accusations and called it a provocation of the Russian special services.
