The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine outraged by statements of the candidate in presidents of France from the far-right party «national front» marine Le Pen on the recognition of the legitimate annexation of Crimea.
This is stated in the commentary of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry on Tuesday 3 January.
«Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses its indignation at the fact that one of the candidates election campaign in France, marine Le Pen made statements in support of the temporary occupation and attempted annexation by Russia of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol», — said in a statement.
The Ukrainian foreign Ministry reminded that the actions of the aggressor state was strongly condemned by all civilized countries of the world, as evidenced by the Resolutions of the UN General Assembly in 2014 and 2016, as well as numerous decisions and documents of the EU, NATO, Council of Europe.
«In response to the criminal actions of the Kremlin France, together with other partners in the «Big seven» and the EU imposed sanctions against Russia, the cancellation shall be possible only after the cessation of Russian aggression against Ukraine and de-occupation of Crimea and Donbass», — stressed the foreign Ministry.
It is noted that, making statements that completely repeat the Kremlin’s propaganda, the French politician shows disrespect to sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and completely ignores the fundamental principles of international law.
«In this regard, we remind you that such statements and acts in violation of Ukrainian legislation will have consequences, as it was in the case of certain French politicians who are banned entry to Ukraine», — said the Minister.
At the same time, diplomats said that Ukraine hopes that the French public will give a principled assessment of such irresponsible rhetoric, one of the contenders for the highest office of France.
«Sure, that France, as host state of the Channel process and the participant of the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, will continue to be an important partner of Ukraine and will assist in the fight against Russian aggression», — concluded the Minister.
As reported, Le Pen said he did not consider the annexation of the Crimea illegal. «I absolutely do not think that the annexation was illegal: there was a referendum the inhabitants of Crimea wanted to join Russia,» she said.
After that, the security Service of Ukraine did not rule out the establishment of Le Pen of the ban on entry to Ukraine for her statement regarding the Crimea. «If we were talking about the official figure, would be to call the Ambassador a note of protest. As for the SBU, we reserve the right to act according to those conclusions come. It may be a ban on entry into the territory of our state face other restrictions that may affect foreigners,» — said the chief of staff of the SBU Oleksandr Tkachuk.
