The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Iran said that the US «crossed a red line» when he imposed sanctions against the head of the judiciary of the country, Ayatollah Sadiq Amoli Larijani. Reported by the BBC.

January 12, the U.S. Treasury announced sanctions against five individuals and nine organizations for involvement in human rights violations in Iran. The statement indicated that Larijani made adminizer over the execution sentences in Iran, so he is considered responsible for torture, executions and other human rights violations.

Iran said that the sanctions against Larijani – a violation of international law and the United States should expect a «serious response» from Iran.

The Iranian foreign Minister also commented on the statement of U.S. President Donald trump about a possible withdrawal of the United States from a nuclear agreement with Iran, saying the country had not violated the terms of the contract.

12 Jan 2018 US President Donald trump said that while postponed the introduction of sanctions against Iran under the nuclear agreement. But, he said, the United States will come from nuclear deal with Iran, if the document will not eliminate the significant deficiencies. Trump noted that his administration interacts with key European partners to develop new supplementary agreement which would provide for multilateral sanctions if Iran violates the commitments on the nuclear deal. He noted that the agreement should be indefinite.

But at the same time, the United States imposed sanctions for the violation of human rights in Iran.
