The father of a victim of the MH17 catastrophe wrote a letter to Putin

John O’brien and his wife , the Gelding from Sydney – the parents of Australian Jack O’brien, who died in the downed over Donbass Russian rocket plane (flight MH17), have sent appeals to the Russian Embassy and the presidential administration, UKRINFORM reported.

«They could not understand the whole tragedy of the situation and the real truth of the disaster that was brought on by Russian fighters in Ukraine. Only when trouble knocked on their door, they, like many foreigners began to discover the truth,» says father Michael Solomko, rector of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in Canberra, to which the Australian father turned for advice in their grief.

«We talked and I held a memorial service for their son, in order to support these people,» says the priest.

In a letter to the victim’s father called upon the Russian government to cooperate in the investigation. The Australian accuses Russia of obstructing the investigation, information warfare, denial of obvious facts and deliberate deception.

In addition, in his address John O Brian remembers about the major distortions of facts that Russian propaganda is using for whitening and justification of its aggression in Eastern Ukraine and emphasizes their doubtfulness.

Jon and Meryn O’brien, doubting that their appeal, which they sent to the Embassy and the administration of the President of the Russian Federation, will go to the addressee, so the letter copy was sent to the Fund «Open Russia» with the request for its publication in Russian translation.

We will remind, on July 29, Russia at a meeting of the Security Council of the United Nations vetoed a resolution on the establishment of an international Tribunal investigation into the shooting down of the plane Malaysian airlines Boeing 777 flight MH17 over Ukrainian territory on July 17, 2014 and the death of 298 people.

11 members of the meeting voted «for» the establishment of the Tribunal, 1 against, and 3 abstaining (China, Angola and Venezuela).

During the discussion, Russia’s permanent representative in the UN Security Council Vitaly Churkin in fact disgraced and accused Ukraine of the tragedy of MH-17. Also notorious diplomat made the symbolic reservation.

«Let’s hope that the investigation will understand, and impunity will come against those who shot down the plane, and those who were sent to the zone of hostilities», — he said.

Countries participating in the investigation will be to seek prosecution of the perpetrators of the crash of flight MH-17, despite the veto and prepare a new justice mechanism.

On 13 October, the security Council of the Netherlands published the final report of the international panel of experts on the crash of flight MH17.
