The European Union urges the authorities and all political parties of Ukraine with the restored forces to unite for the sake of continuing the reform process in the country, reads the statement of the EU delegation in Kiev agreed with the heads of diplomatic missions of member States of the EU in the country.
«It (the Union for the continuation of reforms – ed.) is vital to the future of the country, its democratic development and human well-being. The economic and social revival of Ukraine requires further improvement of the business environment, as well as the unwavering support of the citizens of the reforms launched by the government,» — said in a statement issued on the page of the EU delegation in the social network Facebook on Friday.
In particular, stress in the office, «immediately require concrete and convincing results in the fight against corruption». European diplomats say that one of the main priorities in this respect is the transparency of selection and appointment of heads of public enterprises and their financial statements, as well as the steps undertaken for the privatization or liquidation of some of enterprises in accordance with the programme of macroeconomic and financial stabilization as agreed with international financial institutions.
«The implementation of this programme of reforms and the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law, as envisaged by the Association Agreement (with the EU – ed) will require coordination of reforms in all areas», – said in a statement.
According to diplomats, Ukraine should also redouble efforts to build political consensus within democratic institutions.
«The European Union and its member States have provided significant financial and technical assistance for these reforms and stands ready to continue to support targeted work on reforms», — assured in the representation of the EU.
In the statement it is underlined that in this crucial moment for the political leadership of Ukraine should be put aside differences and jointly focus on the further implementation of the reform plan: «United to support these necessary reforms should be a priority for all political forces.»
Recall, February 4, at an extraordinary meeting of the government Ministers earlier submitted their resignation, announced the readiness to withdraw their applications. So, decided to resign, the Minister of agrarian policy and food Oleksiy Pavlenko, the Minister of information policy of Ukraine Yuriy stets, Minister of health of Ukraine Oleksandr Kvitashvili and Minister of infrastructure Andriy Pivovarsky.
However, Ministers put forward a number of conditions under which they are willing to continue their work in government.
