In the waters of Pegasus Bay New Zealand occurred an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 that split the cliffs on the coast.

Reportedly, no one was hurt, and only one in the coastal area of cliffs fell into the sea, which over the coastal line of rose pillars of dust. Many buildings were evacuated, but no damage.

The epicenter was located 15 kilometers from the city of Christchurch on the Eastern coast of the South island of New Zealand.

Recall that in 2011, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake wiped from the face of the earth, entire areas of the city, killing several hundred people. At the same time about 10 thousand houses were so damaged that they had to carry.

According to the mayor of Christchurch, today’s earthquake was «an unpleasant reminder» of those events.
