The Ministry of defence of Ukraine has denied reports of an alleged elaborate plans for using the Armed forces of Ukraine with the purpose of conduct of hostilities in Syria or Iraq.
«No possibility of use of Armed forces of Ukraine with the purpose of conduct of hostilities in Syria or Iraq will not be considered. Such requests to Ukraine had not received», — is spoken in the statement of the Ukrainian defense Ministry, published on the official website on Monday, 1 February.
The Ministry of defence said that appeared Monday in media reports of alleged possible involvement of armed forces in the fight against «ISIS» in Syria is «yet another example of misinformation and hybrid war against Ukraine».
Speaking about cooperation of Ukraine with international partners in the fight against this terrorist organization, the Ministry noted that «this is about political support in the fight against «Islamic state», including in the framework of the UN Security Council, and intelligence sharing between relevant agencies».
As reported, the website of British newspaper the Independent published an article «Ukraine’s Plans to join the fight against ISIS means a possible clash with Russian troops», in which it was alleged that during the visit of U.S. Secretary of defense Ashton Carter to Kiev this week ostensibly to discuss the issue of sending Ukrainian soldiers to Syria to fight with ISIS.
«Ukraine has developed plans for potential military involvement in the fight against ISIL in Syria so that there is a possibility of confrontation between Ukrainian and Russian troops in the middle East,» it was alleged in the article. The author also stated that the document was allegedly developed by order of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
«We have prepared a range of options for us to support the fight against ISIL, including in Syria, which may involve military forces. This can lead to a potential clash with Russian troops», — reported, as claimed by the publication, a source in the Ukrainian government.
Earlier, on 7 December 2015, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced the meeting in Kiev with Vice President of USA Joe Biden about the readiness of Ukraine to support the anti-terrorist coalition in Syria.
Earlier the security Service of Ukraine reported that in the country intensified the activities of terrorists of «ISIL».
In November, the terrorists of the «Islamic state» has posted a propaganda video in which among his enemies and called Ukraine.
