The Czech Republic is allowed to transfer the remains of Alexander Olesya Ukraine

The Czech authorities have given permission to transfer to the Ukrainian party exhumed the remains of the poet and writer Oleksandr Oles. This was announced on Saturday on Twitter President Poroshenko.

According to him, transportation of the remains to Ukraine is preparing soon.

One of the best poets of Ukraine Oleksandr Oles died in 1944. According to Czech law, after the funeral, the relatives or friends of the deceased should pay rent for a place in the cemetery in the amount of 20 thousand CZK for 10 years (approximately 20 thousand). According to the representatives of the Ukrainian community in the Czech Republic, until recently, the rent for the grave Olesya pay, on its own initiative, a citizen of the Czech Republic and a native of Ukraine Myhaylishyn. He recently died, and his son Roman expressed his intention to bury his father in the grave Olesya.

On the morning of 3 January at the olšany cemetery the remains of Oles and his wife was forcibly exhumed and the grave buried Myhaylishyn.

The foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported that the remains of Alexander Oles and his wife moved to the Depository of the cemetery until the decision of the relatives about the place of final disposal.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the foreign Ministry to urgently intervene in the situation with the forced exhumation of the remains of Olesya in the Czech Republic.

Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman said that the Ministry of culture will set up a Commission which will deal with the issue of reburial of prominent Ukrainians.

Chargé d’affaires of Ukraine in the Czech Republic Zinovy hoshovskyy argues that the exhumation of the remains of Olesya was forced, because the grave at the olšany cemetery is rotten.
