The national Council on television and broadcasting at its meeting on 1 December decided to contact the Ukrainian state centre of radio frequencies with a request to calculate the frequency for the organization of digital broadcasting in the Crimea. Thus the Peninsula will not only provide FM broadcasting, but also digital TV.
This was stated by a member of the national Council Sergey Kostinsky, reports «UKRINFORM».
«The national Council on television and radio broadcasting frequency ordered and already declared competition on 4 FM frequencies for broadcasting on the territory of Crimea through the tower on Chongar in the Kherson region. Today we are taking decision regarding treatment in the Ukrainian state centre of radio frequencies — for calculation of the frequency for the organization of digital broadcasting in the Crimea. That is, we intend not only broadcasting to the Crimea in the FM band, but also digital TV and it must be at least 4 channels. I hope that in the first quarter we will be able to get a response from UCRF,» — said Kostinsky.
He said that the national Council is drawn to the UCRF with a request of the enterprise «Network of Ukraine», which builds the tower on Chongar in the Kherson region.
Kostinsky said that tomorrow in the Kherson region held a visiting session of the Commission on ensuring of stable functioning of National television and radio broadcasting, which operates under the MIP. The session will be attended by the Deputy Minister of the temporarily occupied territories Georgy Tuka and the Chairman of the Kherson regional state administration Andrey Gordeev. To be considered, in particular, the development of broadcasting in the Kherson region and broadcasting organizations in the Crimea.
According to him, will be checking the progress of construction of the TV tower on Chongar.
«We will lay a memorial stone to the foot of the TV tower, where already finished the first section. It was planned that at the end of the year, the rig will be ready. I hope it will be,» — said Kostinsky.
In turn, the Chairman of the national Council Yuriy Artemenko expressed hope that next week will be held the official opening of the tower on the mountain Karachun near Kramatorsk, which is now running in test mode.
As reported, on 10 November, the design of the TV tower on mount Karachun in the Donetsk region is ready for use.
