The Pechersky district court of Kiev has re-allowed the General Prosecutor to start a special correspondence the investigation against former Vice-Prime Minister, ex-Minister of health Raisa Bogatyreva.
This is stated in the court ruling of 17 November, transfer «Ukrainian news» on Friday, November 25.
According to the report, 20 October 2014, the Prosecutor General’s office reported Bogatyryova on suspicion of misappropriation of another’s property by abuse of his official position, on preliminary arrangement by group of persons in especially large sizes. 21 Oct 2014 she was declared wanted.
As a result of the activities of the GPU received from the working apparatus Ukrainian Interpol Bureau a letter stating that on March 16, 2014 former Minister S7156 flight took off from Moldova (Chisinau airport) (airport «Domodedovo» in Moscow), and have not returned to Ukraine.
Thus in 2015, the court gave permission to the Prosecutor’s office at the beginning of the in absentia proceedings, but then it was cancelled due to blocking of its wanted list on Interpol channels.
GPU re-applied to the court in connection with changes in the law that allows you to start special investigations against the suspect for more than 6 months hiding from the investigation authorities.
The investigating judge, after hearing the opinion of the parties to criminal proceedings, after reviewing the case decided to grant the Prosecutor General’s office permission to begin in absentia proceedings against Bohatyryova.
Protection Bogatyrev argues that the Interpol on August 12 stopped in its relation to investigation activities.
We will remind, on June 19, 2014, the General Prosecutor of Ukraine has opened a criminal case against Bohatyryova.
21 Oct 2014 Bogatyreva declared wanted in Ukraine on suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds in the amount of 6.5 million UAH in 2012 during the procurement of immunobiological preparations, medicines and medical equipment. According to the prosecution, Bogatyreva acted «on preliminary arrangement by group of persons».
In April 2015, the Pechersky district court of Kiev elected in absentia Bogatyryova a measure of restraint in form of detention.
In the summer of 2015, the Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine started a special treatment against Bohatyryova, allowing to convict her in absentia.
