The court ordered the owner of the Mercedes in the Lithuanian offer to pay almost UAH 3.4 million fine

The court supported the position of Chernihiv customs of the State fiscal service of Ukraine, which was fined by 3.38 million UAH of a citizen of Ukraine, visshego registered in Lithuania, Mercedes-Benz in the regime of temporary importation without paying customs duties. This was reported by the press service of the SFS.

«When crossing the border at the checkpoint «Novi yarylovychi» citizen sued the customs officials, the passport of the citizen of the Republic of Lithuania. It gave him the right, as a non-resident to import a car that was on the account in a foreign country without payment of customs payments in the customs regime of «temporary import» for a period of up to one year», – stated in the message.

However, customs officers have established that this person also has the citizenship and permanent residence in Ukraine.

«Residents are also allowed to import cars temporary import regime under the obligation to re-export them, but the main requirement is payment of all the due payments: customs duty, VAT and excise tax,» – said in the GFS.

According to the decree of Chernihiv customs citizen brought to administrative responsibility and must pay a fine in the amount of UAH 3 516 383.

May 17, the Supreme administrative court of Ukraine (SACU) for the first time, convicted the citizen of Ukraine, who was driving the car with the Lithuanian state registration, and ordered him to pay almost 420 thousand UAH, which is equal to 300% of the unpaid amount of customs duties.

The state fiscal service and customs authorities of Lithuania launched a joint investigation into the legality of stay in Ukraine of vehicles with Lithuanian registration.
