The court of appeals of Kyiv refused satisfaction of the complaint of protection of Colonel APU Ivan Bezyazykov on the decision of Shevchenkovsky regional court about election of a measure of restraint in the form of detention till February 8.
The decision was announced in the presiding Board judge Vyacheslav Zyubin, reports «UKRINFORM».
«The judges have decided the appeal lawyers who act in the interests of Bezyazykov to leave without satisfaction», — said the judge.
At the stage of application applications prior to the consideration of the appeal on the merits, the lawyers asked for questioning of witnesses, testimony which to base a suspicion Bezyazykov. The court refused satisfaction of this petition, after which the defense challenged the panel of judges. However, after some discussion, the judges decided that the reason for this is not, and proceeded to consider the appeal on the merits.
Ivan Bezyazykov — military intelligence officer, Colonel of Armed forces of Ukraine released from captivity of militants in the summer of 2016, was detained on suspicion of collaborating with the so-called «DNR».
On December 13, media reported that Colonel bezyazykov was recruited by the Russian intelligence services, repeatedly went to Rostov-on-don (Russian Federation) to receive briefings from staff members of the Russian special services. According to intelligence agencies, bezyazykov was known among terrorists by nickname Louise, Uncle Vanya, the Colonel, Ivan.
On 14 December the Shevchenkovskiy district court of Kiev chose for it a measure of restraint in the form of a 2-month detention in prison.
Colonel APU is suspected of committing a crime under part 3 of article 258 of the criminal code (participation in a terrorist organization).
28 December 2016, the security Service of Ukraine published telephone conversations recruited by Colonel APU Ivan Bezyazykov and his wife.
