The Colombian government beginning peace talks with another rebel group

In Colombia, peace talks began between the government and rebels of the national liberation Army. Government spokesman Juan Camilo Restrepo stated that negotiations with FARC concluded that will contribute to the peace agreement, reports BBC Ukraine.

The parties have agreed that this is a unique opportunity for peace in Colombia.

The venue for the talks has provided Ecuador. Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Norway and Venezuela are the guarantors.

Recall, 25 August 2016, the rebel group Revolutionary armed forces of Colombia (FARC) and the government announced agreement on the end of the civil war, which lasted for half a century.

October 7, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos won the Nobel peace prize for signing a peace Treaty with the FARC rebels.

The struggle between the government and the FARC continued at Columbia for over 52 years.
