A group of Chinese companies has reached agreement to acquire the Norwegian Opera Software ASA, the developer of Internet browser Opera, for $ 10.5 billion Norwegian kroner ($1.2 billion). This is stated in the message of the company.

As noted, investors offer 71 crown per share of the company, which is 46% higher than the quotations on the close of trading last Friday.

Owners of about one third of the Opera and the management approved the transaction and recommended shareholders accept it.

The investor team includes the managing company Golden Brick Capital Management, the developer of the games, Beijing Kunlun Tech, manufacturer of security software Qihoo 360 Technology and investima Yonglian Investment.

Opera shares rose in price by 5.4% on Friday on rumors of a possible transaction, its capitalization is estimated at 7.1 billion kroons.
