The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the resolution «On approval of State social program against human trafficking for the period till 2020».

The document was developed in response to PP. 50 and 51 of the National plan of measures on implementation of the second phase of the action Plan on liberalization the EU visa regime for Ukraine.
Representing the act at the Cabinet meeting, the Minister of social policy of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko stressed the importance of the adoption of the state Program, which will allow to identify concrete measures to combat human trafficking, to outline the responsibilities and directions related work of Central and local Executive authorities. The Programme aims to prevent trafficking in persons, improving the efficiency of identifying the perpetrators of the relevant crimes or contribute to their Commission, protection of rights and assistance to victims of trafficking.
The adoption of the State program will: implement a comprehensive state policy on combating human trafficking; to increase the efficiency of Central and local Executive authorities in the sphere of combating human trafficking; to strengthen interaction of public authorities, international, public organizations and other legal entities in the sphere of combating human trafficking; to raise awareness of society about the avoidance of falling into situations of trafficking and provide them with assistance when getting into such situations; to improve the qualifications of public servants, in particular law enforcement and judicial systems.
In addition, the adoption of the program will be eliminated in a society prejudiced against the victims of trafficking, distrust of authorities, which are involved in combating human trafficking; to establish an effective mechanism of interaction and referral of victims of trafficking, between the bodies of internal Affairs and social services.
Recall that in the OSCE stated about the risk of the development of the slave trade by the war in Eastern Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that in the area of the slave trade has become occupied by Russian-terrorist forces in the Donbas. It was reported that 400 to 700 Ukrainians, arrested on the territory of hostilities in the Donbass, were exported to the territory of Russia, where many of them were sold into slavery in Chechnya, Adygea and Ossetia.
