The Cabinet approved the Pension Fund budget with a deficit of 141,5 billion hryvnia

The Cabinet approved the Pension Fund budget in 2017 with a deficit of 141,5 billion hryvnia.

The decision was taken at a government meeting on Wednesday.

«Generally the budget of the Pension Fund is growing compared with the year 2016, where we had 257 billion, to 284 billion UAH», — said the Minister of social policy Andrei Reva.

According to him, the amount of subsidies, which from the state budget goes to the Pension Fund, is reduced from 145 billion to 141,5 billion hryvnia.

«Maybe it’s not much, but compared to the growth of the overall Pension Fund, it suggests that we reduce the role of the budget and increase the revenues of ERUs,» — said the Minister.

Reva said that the proceeds from the unified social contribution in 2016 amounted to $ 112 billion, and this year is 142.5 billion, i.e. was observed in more than 30 billion.

«It is the measures associated with the growth of the wage Fund, raising the minimum wage… then there is the natural way we are working to reduce the deficit of the Pension Fund,» — he concluded.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko said that this year the budget deficit of the Pension Fund will be reduced by approximately 12 billion hryvnia by increasing the minimum wage to 3200 hryvnia and raising salaries in the budgetary and non-budgetary sectors.
