The border guards explained why Ukrainians with ID-passports are not allowed to Belarus

Citizens of Ukraine internal passports of the new sample – ID-cards – are still not allowed in the Republic of Belarus. This information, on 25 January was confirmed by the assistant chief of the Chernihiv border detachment – the chief a press-services Alexander Dudko, UKRINFORM reported.

«Facts about nepropusk citizens of Ukraine, which received the bodies of the State migration service passport of the new sample documents, the so-called ID-cards are fixed, but this is due to certain legislative nonsense: new documents in Ukraine is introduced, but not included in the interstate agreement on visa-free trips of citizens of Ukraine and Belarus to each other,» said Dudko.

According to him, Belarusians, Ukrainians are not allowed with ID card regardless of whether they have equipment for reading information from such documents or not – they are simply fulfilling existing contractual obligations.

«This issue is not at all the guards, and appropriate consular services of ministries of foreign Affairs of both countries,» said Dudko.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has introduced the possibility of registration of ID-passports for all citizens from 1 November 2016.
