The plane with the ashes of the Ukrainian writer Oleksandr Oles and his wife arrived at the international airport «Borispol», have informed Agency «Interfax-Ukraine» the Ukrainian foreign Ministry.
«Our task was to coordinate the delivery of the ashes of Alexander Oles in Ukraine. We fulfilled our task. Today, he arrived in Kiev», — said the Agency interlocutor.
He also noted that further information on the progress of events by the authorized bodies in the government, in particular, the Ministry of culture of Ukraine.
The ashes of the Ukrainian writer, poet Alexander Oles reburied on Sunday, January 29, on the territory of State historical-memorial reserve Lukyanovka in Kiev, said the Minister of culture of Ukraine Yevhen nischuk.
«It is January 29, the day of Kruty heroes, will be saying farewell to Oleksandr Oles and burial… He will be buried in the lukyanovsky cemetery,» said the Minister at a briefing on Friday in Kiev.
Nyshchuk said that Olesya reburied in the Alley of honorary burial.
According to the Minister, the funeral service will be held in the Vladimir Cathedral at 12.00, it will be headed by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kiev Patriarchate Filaret ( Denisenko), and at 13.30 on lukyanovsky cemetery will hold a public farewell.
Nyshchuk noted that when discussing the place of reburial of the Oles was discussed as an option and Baikove cemetery, but due to the fact that perhaps in the future will be the reburial of other prominent Ukrainian personalities, the decision was taken to the Lukyanovka cemetery.
«Given the fact that a similar situation or a situation where the state will petition for the reburial, perhaps over time, other personalities, or military-political migration or scientists or cultural figures, we thought that was another place and therefore chose lukyanovskoe cemetery,» — said Nyshchuk.
The Minister also announced that the reburial might visit a relative Olesya from Canada.
The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated for the transportation and reburial of the Ukrainian writer and poet Alexander Oles 140 thousand UAH, said Yevhen Nyshchuk.
«It was the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to allocate funds for the entire procedure of reburial — 60 thousand UAH are directed to the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine, which carried out the procedure of transportation, and 80 thousand UAH which the Ministry of culture will send to the Kyiv city state administration for reburial and expenses that are associated with it,» — said the Minister.
As reported, on 3 January 2017 the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the foreign Ministry to provide transportation of the remains of the Ukrainian poet and writer Oles, and the Ministry of culture to organize the reburial in Ukraine.
The remains of the Oles, who died in 1944 and buried in the Czech Republic, was forcibly exhumed. According to Czech law, after the burial, relatives or friends of the deceased should pay rent for a place in the cemetery in the amount of approximately 20 thousand Czech crowns (equivalent to UAH 20 thousand) for 10 years. Until recently, the rent for the grave paid on its own initiative, the citizen of the Czech Republic, a native of Ukraine Vladimir Mikhaylishin, but he recently died and now his son wants to bury father on the writer’s grave.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the order according to which the remains of Oles and his wife to be reburied in the territory of the State historical and memorial reserve in Lukyanovka Kiev.
