The Ukrainian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Borys Zaychuk turned to the Czech publishing house nakladatelství Ottovo with the requirement to bring the map of Ukraine in the publication «world Atlas of Football» in line with international law. This is stated in the message on the website of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic.
In the corresponding letter to the publisher, the Ambassador noted that the international community is United in support of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and does not recognize the annexation of Crimea.
«Therefore, the publication of the map of Ukraine without Crimea is contrary to international law and completely ignores the consolidated position of the countries of the European Union not to recognise the occupation of the Russian Federation of the Crimea», — stated in the message.
«The world Atlas of football», which occupied the Crimea marked as Russian territory, in the Czech Republic was issued in November last year.
Czech publishing house Nakladatelstvi Ottovo stated that the designation of Crimea as part of Russia in their «Football» Atlas was the result of the error mapper was not a deliberate action.
In addition, recently the Polish company Vox Humana, published in last year’s book for children «Childhood in different countries» map of Ukraine without Crimea portrayed. After the reaction of Ukrainians and the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland, the company apologized for the mistake and pledged to fix it.
