The Ambassador of Canada in Ukraine Roman Vashchuk has transferred ten ambulances to the representatives of medical institutions from different regions of Ukraine, which were purchased for the canadian benefactors.
As UKRINFORM reported, a solemn ceremony was held Friday at St. Michael’s square as part of celebrations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the canadian-Ukrainian diplomatic relations.
«Funds for these «emergency» have been collected across Canada, to prepare for Ukrainian standards, they were helped in five provinces. Their efforts to put hundreds of people from civil society, provincial governments and the Federal government. «Fast» is intended for hospitals from Lugansk to Chernivtsi, that is, from East to West, again, as we c the West to East gathered money for them. Therefore, it is a gift for all of Canada for the entire United Ukraine,» — said Vashchuk.
He said that the total cost of the ambulances is about 400 thousand dollars, they have not long been in use and fully restored by canadian companies, so Vashchuk expressed the hope that they will long to serve the Ukrainians.
«We learn by their own initiatives and from their mistakes. When the first ambulance arrived about two years ago, there were a list of comments, as they are better adapted, in particular, electrical system, connection of oxygen, as in Ukraine and North America, these systems are different. This time it was already considered and technically accomplished», — the Ambassador noted.
As noted at the ceremony of ten transferred to ambulances and three cars equipped with additional rescue equipment, available in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region, four cars will go to the Central district hospital in the Kharkiv region in the city of Pervomaisk, Rolls, Blyzniuky and Barvenkovo, where begins the project of providing basic medical assistance to the most vulnerable categories of the population using mobile teams and three ambulances will go to children’s hospital in Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Lviv.
Recall that in January, Canada sent to Ukraine 11 tons of humanitarian aid.
