Sytnik about the idea of anti-corruption chambers: This is speculation and deception. There are the same judges, whom we see almost every day are detained for bribes

The number of anti-corruption judges, which may appear in Ukraine in the case of the adoption of Zakonodatelstva on anti-corruption at the chambers of the existing courts would be great too. About this on air of the channel «Direct» said the Director of the National anti-corruption Bureau Sytnyk.

According to him, the government is «afraid» to create anti-corruption court.

«Now there are certain attempts of speculation on this subject. And one of these speculation – and even calling it cheating is a new anti-corruption chambers. What is offered us, and the bill in Parliament: in order to start anti-corruption court, you need about 80-100 judges in all three instances. If we are talking about anti-corruption chambers, the main problem now is not the appeal, not on appeal, namely, the creation of the first instance court, which will consider these cases,» he said.

According to Sytnik, the establishment of anti-corruption chambers, «unrealistic project».

«What is offered with the chambers, is the same judges, which we almost every day to detain for bribery, will simply be called the anti-corruption judges will hear the cases. But even if we do preliminary calculations, 27 appeal courts, if you create those rooms… Minimal composition of this house is five people. 27 to five is already 135 judges anti-corruption. And it is only in the appellate courts. If we are talking about courts of first instance, that there are only 450 in Ukraine. Again, you need at least five people in order to ensure justice in these matters. It’s just unreal project, and such number of anti-corruption judges simply do not need to Ukraine», – said the Director of the NABOO.

30 September 2016 entered into force constitutional changes in terms of justice and the new law «On judicial system and status of judges», which Parliament passed on 2 June. On 13 July the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law.

According to the law, is expected to create Higher anti-corruption court (WAX), which will be considered a separate category of cases, remand prisoners anti-corruption Bureau. The date of functioning of the anti-corruption court law is not spelled out.

The creation of a specialized anti-corruption court is one of the obligations which Ukraine undertook before the international partners – the European Union and the International monetary Fund.
