Study: Ukrainians support the reintegration of the occupied part of Donbass

According to the study «Index of social cohesion and reconciliation SCORE», citizens of Ukraine support the reintegration of the uncontrolled territories in Donbas.

On Thursday 19 January, the press center of the Ministry from the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons in Ukraine.

So, according to the study, on a ten point scale (where 0 is absolutely not supported, 10 — completely supported) the majority of the population of Ukraine, particularly in the West (6.7 points), Central (6.6 points), South (6.1 points) and Eastern (6.4) the region support the reintegration of the uncontrolled regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Citizens of Ukraine, living in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, where the public authorities temporarily do not exercise their authority to support such an option with certain conditions.

According to the study, about half of Ukrainians living in government-controlled Ukraine territories, support the idea to leave Donbass as part of Ukraine on the same principles as other region after decentralization.

The data sampling was conducted in all regions of Ukraine, including outside the control of the government of Ukraine territories. Studies were conducted SEED with the support of USAID (United States Agency for international development) for 2016.

We will remind, earlier in November 2016 in the Ministry in the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons of Ukraine presented a White paper on the strategy of de-occupation of Crimea. 3 months before the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Concept of state target program «Restoration and development of peace in the Eastern regions of Ukraine».

As reported, the Deputy Minister of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Georgy Tuka said that the liberation of the occupied territories of Donbass fighters and Russian troops will begin in the fall of 2017. He noted that the issue of liberation from the Russian occupation of Crimea and Donbas must be separated from each other, because, in his opinion, to return the annexed Peninsula will need much more time.
