Spanish foreign Minister: the EU agreed to extend sanctions against Russia for another six months

The EU plans to extend economic sanctions against Russia for another six months. There is «General agreement» to move in this direction. About this in Brussels on 2 December, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Spain Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo.

This information was confirmed to the dpa news Agency, and other diplomats of the EU, Deutsche Welle reports. According to them, this decision should be formally confirmed.

In June, the EU extended the economic sanctions against Russia until 31 January 2016. It was then decided that abolishing trade and investment restrictions will be possible only after the full implementation of the Minsk agreements, which has not yet happened.

It is not known when a final decision on the extension of sanctions against Russia. The next meeting of foreign Ministers of countries-EU members to be held on December 14.
