Six former deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea, who are accused of treason, will be tried in the Desnyanskiy district court of Kyiv.
The corresponding decision was taken on Tuesday 3 January, the court of Appeal of Kyiv, UNIAN reports.
Thus, the court found indictments for criminal proceedings on charge ex-deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the Crimea Anatoly Zaichenko, Yefim Fiks, Sergey Shuvaynikov, Oedipus Gafarov, Sergey Tsekova and Grigory Ioffe in the Commission of a criminal offense under part 1 of article 111 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (high treason), to send in Desnyansky regional court of Kiev for consideration in essence.
Also, according to the court of Appeal ruling, for consideration on the merits in the Podolsky district court of Kyiv will be sent to the indictment in criminal proceedings on charges of treason, the former Deputy of BP of the Crimea Konstantin Bakharev.
However, the court of Appeal postponed to January 10 consideration of motions according to the court, which will consider indictments against two more former Crimean deputies — Vitaly Nahlupina and Svetlana Savchenko.
We will remind, on December 30, 2016, the office of public Prosecutor of Crimea has directed to court proceedings against 11 former members of Parliament of the Crimea on charges of treason.
It was about Sergei Tsekova, Svetlana Savchenko, Konstantin Bakharev, the Oedipus Gafarov, Anatoly Zaichenko, Ramsey Ilyasova, Grigory Ioffe, Vladimir Klychnikov, Vitaly Nakhlupin, the Efim Fiks, Sergey Shuvaynikov.
According to prosecutors, during the investigation of criminal proceedings is conclusive proof of the fact that in March 2014, they provided assistance and contributed to the occupation of the Crimea. In particular, they illegally took a number of decisions, which had created an illegitimate state entity «Republic of Crimea». The accused can be punished with imprisonment for a term of twelve to fifteen years.
The Kyiv court of appeals on 3-4 January were to determine the courts that will consider indictments against 11 former MPs. Thus, today the court of Appeal considered the application in respect of the 9 ex-members.
