Canadian companies interested in exporting weapons to Ukraine, said Ukraine’s Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko in the comments of «Radio Liberty».

«We are now clearing all the administrative barriers. The canadian companies have an interest. Unfortunately, it so happened that we are now an important and interesting market of arms and weapons. And it concerns not only Ukraine. Understand, what threat is Russia. Therefore, we hope that we will have real projects with canadian companies,» he said.

On 3 April the Minister of defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak and Minister of national defence of Canada harjit Sajjan in Ottawa signed an agreement on cooperation in the defense sphere. Poltorak said that such arrangements would improve the support of the Armed forces of Ukraine with modern military equipment and weapons.

13 Dec Canada has included Ukraine in the list of States in which is allowed the export of firearms.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Canada Chrystia Freeland reported on 21 December during a visit to Kiev that the Ukrainian government has not yet passed a bid to provide the country with weapons.
