Senegal has suspended military operations in the Gambia

Senegal and the Economic community of West African States (ECOWAS) has suspended military operations in the Gambia, to give a chance to the former President of the Republic to resign and hand over power in the country elected head of state. The organization said that President Yahya Jammeh, whose powers have expired on the eve, 19 January, must relinquish power until noon on January 20. Otherwise, a military operation in the country will continue.
