NATO expects that the concept of the reform of the SBU is approved by the President of Ukraine in the near future.

«Key NATO standard is the civil dimension of control and supervision. This is a key priority in terms of our cooperation with Ukraine. The cooperation that we have with the SBU is very valuable and it causes results. This is the concept of the reform of the SBU, which was completed in July last year. NATO expects the adoption of this concept by the President in the near future,» he said.

According to Vinnikov, the reform provides for the creation of new mechanisms, the international experience was discussed with representatives of the SBU. In particular, as the basis discusses the experience of Norway.

A new concept of the reform of the SBU will be debated in the Verkhovna Rada on 7 February.

We will remind, in the spring of 2015 Valentyn Nalyvaichenko – the then head of the security Service of Ukraine said that the reform of the SBU is not necessary to invent a new concept, and it is possible to use the experience of the security Service of the OUN-UPA.
