Russian athletes were not allowed to selection for the Paralympics in 2018

The international Paralympic Committee (IPC) rejected the proposal of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RCC) to allow the Russian Paralympic athletes to participate in international qualifying competitions for the Paralympic winter games in 2018 in Pyeongchang (Republic of Korea). The corresponding response is received, the Russian side from IPC, the official website of RCC.

«The Paralympic Committee of Russia received a response from the International Paralympic Committee signed by the President of the IPC Philip Craven at the RCC proposal to resolve the Russian Paralympic athletes to participate in international qualifying competitions for the Paralympic winter games in 2018 in Pyeongchang (Republic of Korea), with specific guarantees. In response, Mr. Craven said that the RCC proposal was presented to the members of the Executive Committee of the IPC. The Executive Committee of the IPC reviewed and discussed their 29 January 2017 at its meeting in Bonn (Germany). After discussion of this matter, the Executive Committee of the IPC made the decision to decline the offer RCC», — stated in the message.

We will remind, the Russian team in full force was removed from the Paralympic games-2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). The cause is the total corruption of the anti-doping system in Russia, where doping was encouraged at the state level.
