Russia has blocked a UN resolution accusing Iran of supplying weapons to Yemen

Russia vetoed the United Kingdom developed a UN resolution designed to prevent violation of the UN ban on arms shipments to Yemen. It is reported agento Associated Press.

The resolution was supported by 11 countries that voted against representatives of Russia and Bolivia, and China and Kazakhstan abstained.

The document said that Iran has violated the set in 2015, the embargo on deliveries of weapons, not taking «necessary measures to prevent the direct or indirect supply of missiles and drones» to Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Representatives of Britain, the resolution focused on the January report of the international expert group monitoring sanctions against Iran.
