Russia does not want to give Ukraine the skies over Crimea

The Russian Federation considers that the European aviation safety Agency (EASA) has no relation to flying over the Black sea, and the Declaration on the resolution of the movement politicized. This was stated by the head of Rosaviatsiya Alexander Neradko, reports TASS.

The report will allow EASA to increase the number of airlines on these routes is almost 3 times

«EASA — European Agency for safety has nothing to do with the air traffic services over the Black sea. So their statement is totally politicized,» said he.

In a statement, the Federal air transport Agency stated that «the Russian side has not agreed on a statement, EASA, and has no plans to transfer the management of air traffic in FIR Simferopol Ukrainian dispatchers».

According to Neradko, the EASA statement is not consistent with the decision of the International civil aviation organization (ICAO), which established a special task force. This group should meet in March at the first meeting.

«The work of the group invited the riparian countries of the black sea basin, which addresses this problem. EASA is not invited. They will discuss the problems associated with flights in the flight information region of Simferopol», — he added.

The report will allow EASA to increase the number of airlines on these routes is almost 3 times

The report of the European aviation safety Agency (EASA) on the safety of two air routes over the Black sea will increase the number of companies flying on those routes from 15 to 40. This is stated in the report of the State enterprise for air traffic services of Ukraine («UkSATSE»).

«Now these two routes are approximately 15 airlines, but with the release of EASA the potential number of airlines may grow to 40», — commented the representatives of the enterprise solution EASA.

Recall that on 18 February the European aviation security Agency, after investigation confirmed the safety of two routes — L851 and M856, passing through the airspace over the Western part of the Black sea. In this case, the airspace over the Crimea and territorial waters remains closed to aircraft operations.

According to the Minister of infrastructure Andriy Pivovarsky restore air traffic on these routes would reduce the costs of operations for airlines and increase revenues to the budget of Ukraine.

After the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation in March 2014 the Ministry of transport of Ukraine adopted a decision to ban all flights over the Crimean Peninsula. Later international civil aviation organization (ICAO) has officially confirmed the control of the Ukrainian aviation authorities over Crimean air space.
