«To restore the monument should in a short time, so we can together with the Polish side become together have rebuilt the monument during the next commemoration in memory of the victims of mass extermination of poles, who inhabited the gut Penasco. The regional government will allocate the necessary funds», — said Sheremet.
According to him, the monument will return to its original form, however, the inscription found on the monument, the number of deaths will change that, since it is overpriced. Sheremet expressed hope that the Polish side will show the same promptness in restoration of destroyed by vandals monument to the Ukrainians in Poland. In particular, in the village Monastery, where in a battle with NKVD killed 65 soldiers of the UPA, a monument at the burial site even a year after the vandalism, not washed out offensive inscriptions. This week the Ukrainian delegation will go there and wash them.

The head of «Ukrainian national memory Institute» Volodymyr viatrovych believes the destruction of the monument is a provocation aimed at escalation of the Polish-Ukrainian relations.
