Reva: 4100 UAH – calculated inflation-adjusted minimum wage, which should be in 2018

Raising the minimum wage in Ukraine to 4100 UAH – calculated norm, which must be in the Ukrainian legislation taking into account the level of inflation. This was stated to journalists on the sidelines of the Cabinet on 6 December, the Minister of social policy of Ukraine Andriy Reva, the correspondent of the edition «GORDON».

«Given the inflation rate, which was in 2017, the minimum wage shall be UAH 4023. Therefore, the proposal of the President about establishment of the minimum salaries of RS 4100 is a calculated size, calculated the rate of the minimum salary, which according to legislation must be in Ukraine in 2018,» said Reva.

He noted that the realization of the initiatives of the President needs economic resources, and he knows it.

«Today in the draft budget for the second reading remains the norm 3723 UAH. On the proposal of the Ministry of social policy written: at the end of the first quarter with the implementation of the budget to consider the possibility of reviewing this figure. The President proposes to do it not later than the third quarter of 2018. But this will be implemented if our economic opportunities will make it,» said the Minister.

6 December 2016 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the decision to increase the minimum wage from 1 January 2017 up to 3200 UAH.

Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr danylyuk, said on 11 September that the minimum wage in Ukraine from 1 January 2018 plan to increase to UAH 3723.

14 June at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that allows the average salary to 10 thousand UAH in the medium term.

On 4 December the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has called for raising the minimum wage in Ukraine to 4100 UAH.
