«Renaissance» has demanded the government to explain the failure of the Pension Fund to recalculate the pensions of Chernobyl

Deputies from the group «Renaissance» in the Verkhovna Rada appealed to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman with the requirement to explain why the Pension Fund unreasonably refuses to recalculation of pensions to servicemen who took part in liquidation of consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.

As reported on the official website of the party, to Groysman addressed the people’s deputies Vasily Gulyaev Oleg Kulinich, Artem Ilyyuk, Victor Ostapchuk and Valery Pisarenko.

In the Deputy address it is said that, according to part 3, article 59 of the law of Ukraine «On status and social protection of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster», the disability pension to servicemen who took part in liquidation of consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, should be paid five times the minimum wage established by law on 1 January of the respective year.

Thus, according to Gulyaev, many liquidators-military personnel receive waivers on their application in the management of the Pension Fund of Ukraine about the national pension.

«By its actions, the Pension Fund of Ukraine violates the Ukrainian Constitution and worsens the conditions of pension provision of the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident. That is why we appeal to the Prime Minister to take, within its competence, measures to prevent unjustified failure to make appropriate declarations, as well as failure in terms of pensions», – said Gulyaev.

According to the «Renaissance» in Ukraine – about 2 million victims of Chernobyl, including more than 100 thousand people with disabilities.
