Released from Mariupol cargo ship under the flag of Liberia, ran aground in the Azov sea near the border with Russia

In the Azov sea near the border with the Russian Federation ran aground cargo ship Sabrina, which sails under the Liberian flag, which sailed from the port of Mariupol on Sunday evening, however, was informed about the incident only days later, informs the press service of the main Department of civil service of Ukraine of emergencies in Donetsk oblast.

In the dated Monday, January 11, the information on the website of GU gschs of Ukraine in the field indicates that the message about the incident was received in the rescue Service «101» 13.00 Monday, January 11.

In the submitted report said that the ship that left port at 18.00 Sunday, 10 January, ran aground two hours later.

«On Board there are 17 crew members. Threats to the life and health of the crew there, food, fuel and warmth of the people provided. All crew members — from the country of Liberia. The ship itself as a result of stranding also not suffered», — noted in gschs.

The Ministry reported that by 6.00 am Tuesday, 12 January, the question of heaving-off the ship was resolved, and appropriate activities are planned for the 12 January.

According to the information of the relevant sites, the ship Sabrina (IMO: 9414735, MMSI: 636013067) was built in 2006 and sails under the Liberian flag, port of registry – Monrovia (capital of Liberia). Sabrina has a length of 128 m, width — 18 m. the Gross tonnage of the vessel is 6278 tons.
