Rada withdrew the bill on anti-corruption courts

The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on 21 December, withdrew bill No. 6011 of the anti-corruption courts. It is reported by the correspondent of the edition «GORDON».

Voted 235 deputies.

The bill gives the opportunity to submit to the Parliament a draft law on the anticorruption court, the President of Ukraine.

On 9 October, the Venice Commission published the full text of the opinion on the Ukrainian draft laws No. 6011 (attribution Deputy speaker Oksana Syroid (independent), MPs Yegor Sobolev (Samopomich), Ivan Krulko (Batkivshchyna), Sergey Leshchenko, Svetlana Zalishchuk and Moustapha Nayem (Block Poroshenko) and No. 6529 (representative of the bloc of Petro Poroshenko Sergey Alekseev) on the establishment of anticorruption courts in Ukraine.

The experts did not support the introduction of an extensive system of anti-corruption of the chambers that were provided for in the bill No. 6529. Currently, this document is withdrawn. The Commission also criticized several provisions of bill No. 6011, drawing attention to the inadmissibility of politicization of the appointment process for judges and the need to respect the Constitution during the selection procedure.

On October 20, President Petro Poroshenko said about the necessity of developing a new draft law on the anti-corruption court.

November 8, Poroshenko urged deputies to develop a new bill on anti-corruption court with regard to the recommendations of the Venice Commission and to withdraw bill No. 6011.

On 14 November, the Rada failed to vote for a review of this initiative.

November 17 the Verkhovna Rada Committee on legal policy and justice recommended that the Parliament to return the draft bill No. 6011 on the establishment of an anti-corruption court for its initiators.

The creation of a Specialized anti-corruption court is one of the obligations which Ukraine undertook before the international partners – the European Union and the International monetary Fund.

In the present case, investigated by the National anti-corruption Bureau, examines the Solomensky district court, because in this area there is office. Director of the NABU Artem Sytnik declared that the courts often delay business Bureau.
