Rada provided to the wounded during the revolution of dignity the same benefits as combatants

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 14 November, adopted in whole draft law №5697 on granting the status of combatants to people who have received injuries in the course of the Revolution of dignity in 2013-2014, the correspondent of «GORDON».

For adoption in General, voted 241 MP.

The bill provides for granting the status of combatants to people who have received heavy, moderate and light injuries that did not lead to disability, during the revolution of dignity, and who have sought medical help in the period from 21 November 2013 to 30 April 2014.

The draft law provides the granting the status of combatants, law enforcement officers, servicemen of the internal troops and those who served in law enforcement and the Armed forces, who was injured during the performance of official duties related to the events on the Maidan.

Under the bill, the procedure for granting the status of combatants and the establishment of the Association of disability with injury or other health damage will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.

At the end of 2013 – early 2014 in Ukraine there were mass protests that led to regime change. At this time, the protesters resisted law enforcement authorities and hired armed bandits (titushki). Ex-Prosecutor General Vitaly Yarema said that only 18 to 20 February 2014 77 protesters were killed, about 700 people were injured.
