«Ukraine urges all the time to be a responsible partner. We are doing it. We perform all of our obligations under the action plan on visa liberalization, implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU, the Budapest Memorandum. I therefore welcome enough hard foreign Ministry statement about what we expect from the European Union positions of power and policy», — said Gerashchenko.
Gerashchenko said that there are no reasons to delay the adoption bezvisovogo regime in November this year.
«From our partners, frankly, we sometimes see the double standards. Therefore, the Ukrainian side has every right to speak and appeal to our European colleagues, we also expect your support. We lives our children protected democratic values. Therefore, we expect you to be responsible and complete your part of the Agreement,» the MP said.
Gerashchenko said that in relation to a visa-free regime, the Ukrainian side is aware of the new risks that are now facing the European Union in the context of a migration crisis.
«However, when we adopted the plan of visa liberalization, it was not foreseen any mechanism of suspension,» — said Gerashchenko.
She also stressed that the key position in the adoption of a visa-free regime does not depend on the European Parliament and the European Council.
«So next week, the Ukrainian Parliament to adopt a statement of appeal to the European Council which will demand that the European Union has fulfilled its part of the agreement on visa liberalization,» — said Gerashchenko.
«I think that now is a time when politicians of all camps, social activists must unite in one message to the European community: Ukraine has fulfilled all the conditions and we look forward to the adoption of a visa — free regime,» — said the MP.
As reported, the technical negotiations between the EU Council and the European Parliament concerning the mechanism of suspension will continue next week.
Next Wednesday, the EU ambassadors can give permission to begin inter-institutional negotiations on visa-free regime for Ukraine.
We are talking about the so-called process of «Trialogue» in which the institutions of the European Union should adopt a common vision of the new mechanism. Only after that the proposal will be submitted for approval by the European Parliament and the EU Council.
We will remind, the Ukrainian foreign Ministry earlier said that further delaying the EU decision on visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine is unacceptable.
As reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expects that the European Parliament approves visa-free regime for Ukraine in November.
