Putin declared about the participation in elections of 2018

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin declared about the intention to participate in presidential elections in 2018, Interfax reports.

About his intention to run for the head of state said at the rally-concert dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Gorky automobile plant.

Putin noted that there is no «best location and best reason» to declare the intention to run.

Presidential elections in Russia will be held on 18 March 2018. At the moment about the plans of the extension, said Ksenia Sobchak, a leader of the Communist party Gennady Zyuganov, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, businessman Sergei Polonsky, journalist Catherine Gordon and Russian blogger Nigerian-born Samson Sholademi.

Opposition leader Alexei Navalny announced the decision to participate in elections of the President of Russia. Chairman of the Central election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova said that Navalny will be able to take part in the presidential elections in 2018, but only if it will remove a record or to change the law. According to her, the opposition will be able to run for President of the Russian Federation after 2028.
