President of the EC promises free movement in the EU after Brexit

The norm on the free movement of people within the EU will remain fundamental in the future, after the withdrawal of Britain from the EU. This was stated by the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, reports Deutsche Welle.

Statement Juncker was made on the background of statements of the Prime Minister of great Britain David Cameron, who insisted that reforms of the paragraph on the free movement of citizens within the EU should be a «key» for relations between countries of the EU after Brexit.

Juncker also urged British authorities «to give a clear signal about their intentions.»

«I would prefer clearly explain any negotiations without notice based on the official beginning of the exit from the EU — ed.)», — he said.

Before an informed source in the British government told reporters on condition of anonymity about the conversation between Cameron and the leaders of the countries-members of EU, which took place during the summit in Brussels.

Then Cameron pointed out the necessity of preserving the closest possible economic relations between the EU and Britain.

Cameron indicated that a key condition for the preservation of such relationships is to reform the current paragraph regarding the free movement of citizens within the EU.

In a referendum in the UK on June 23 for withdrawal from the EU voted 52% of voters, 48% voted against.
