Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk and Groysman assured the ambassadors of the G7 countries that will work together for reform

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Parliament speaker Volodymyr Groysman during the meeting with ambassadors of the countries «Big seven» (G7) had assured them, that will make joint efforts for reforms in the country.

«The President, the Prime Minister and the speaker assured us that they will work together and are United for reform in the country», — told reporters the Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Shigeki Sumi , after meeting with diplomats with the country’s leaders in Kiev on Thursday 4 February, reports «Interfax-Ukraine».

According to him, during the meeting they discussed the situation with the resignation of the Minister of economic development and trade of Aivaras Abromavicius and the situation with reforms in the country as a whole.

The diplomat added that the ambassadors of the G7 to support the General work of the President, Prime Minister and Parliament for the implementation of reforms in Ukraine.

Answering the question, was the topic of the meeting that the Prime Minister will remain Yatsenyuk, the Ambassador said: «Ask the Prime Minister, ask the President.»

The meeting of ambassadors of the G7 with leaders of Ukraine lasted in the presidential administration about 2 hours.

As reported, Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine aivaras abromavicius at a briefing on 3 February announced the decision to resign because of the lack of support and active opposition by his team reforms. «I and my team have no desire to be a cover for outright corruption, controlled by puppets for those who want the style of the old regime to establish control over public money. These people have names, and one of these names I will announce: this is Igor Kononenko. As a representative political force that nominated me as Minister, in the last month he has done a lot to block my work and the work of the Ministry», — said the Minister.

Following the resignation Abromavicius said his deputies.

Kononenko, in turn, has called «emotional» statement Abromavicius and considers it an attempt to shift responsibility for failures in the work of the Ministry. The accusations of the Minister, he denies and associates them with the forthcoming reformation of the government.

On the website of the NABU on 3 February, it was reported that investigators have already begun to verify the facts announced by Abromavicius about the possible interference in the work of the Ministry by Kononenko and other deputies. The Bureau noted that the European media will soon be invited for questioning as a witness according to published facts.

Poroshenko after a meeting with the head of the MEDT said that the reserve Fund should remain in office. According to the head of state, the Minister thinks about this proposal.

Igor Kononenko stated that removes from itself powers of the first Deputy Chairman of the faction «Block of Petro Poroshenko» against Abromavichus during the investigation. Kononenko also declared his readiness to lay down the mandate of people’s Deputy according to the decision of the faction, however, according to the leader of the faction Yuriy Lutsenko, the faction «BPP» has not supported the initiative about resignation of the mandate of the people’s Deputy Igor Kononenko. «If the NEB will establish the facts of corruption in action Kononenko, fraction definitely will go further in its decisions,» — said Lutsenko.
