Poroshenko: for the successful completion of the work on the Maidan you want to permanently adopt amendments to the Constitution

For the successful completion of the cases for the events on the square you want to permanently adopt amendments to the Constitution in terms of justice. This is stated in the statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the occasion of the day of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred.

«The main thing that you need to successfully complete cases on the Maidan is finally making changes to the Constitution in the part of the judicial reform, which provides for deep cleansing of the vessels», he said.

According to the President, no judicial reform, if it do not reach three hundred votes in Parliament, it’s the only thing that might interfere with the punishment. It is in the judicial system the highest resistance, sabotage and mutual responsibility in regard to the punishment of those responsible for crimes against the Maidan. Because this system was largely shaped by those who now should be prosecuted.

«Changing ordinary laws, earlier, for a substantial upgrade of ships of opportunity is not given. However, after investigations conducted by the Provisional ad hoc Commission and the High Council of justice I have signed decrees on dismissal of seven judges, who made an illegal decision against the protesters. Another judge will be fired next week. 14 judges on representation of the WHOLE should dismiss the Verkhovna Rada», — said the President.

«Just for consideration by the High Council of justice was transferred to VSC conclusion about presence of signs of infringement of the oath in the actions of the 46 judges. Now, as far as I am aware, in ALL 35 cases made a final decision. Of them 22 judges had made a complaint about the dismissal in connection with violation of the oath of the judge», — said Poroshenko.

He also added that the materials in respect of the six judges sent to the High qualification Commission of judges for attraction to a disciplinary responsibility.

«The shooting of peaceful protesters is a crime that has no Statute of limitations. Investigations and the courts are already, and the guilty will be punished, if not today, then tomorrow; if not tomorrow, then day after tomorrow. Overcoming objective and subjective difficulties, breaking the resistance of the old system, the country however, change and moving forward. Conclusions to do early, but I am convinced that both the authorities and society work as a result so that we will never be ashamed in front of the bright memory of Heavenly one Hundred», — assured the President.

President: Russia will never give Ukraine Yanukovych, Zakharchenko, Yakymenko and other killers

Russia will never give Ukraine’s former President Viktor Yanukovych, former interior Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko, former Chairman of SBU Alexander Yakimenko and other killers.

«We all understand that Russia will never extradite Yanukovych, Zakharchenko, Yakymenko and other killers. So to judge them we will be in absentia», he said.

«However, the Verkhovna Rada must immediately make some changes to the legislation. So, in absentia judgements will not lead to the conclusion, but will allow to confiscate the property of these criminals who killed people and plundered the country», — said Poroshenko.

Poroshenko believes that the investigation of crimes against Maidan is still very far from completion

Petro Poroshenko believes that the investigation of crimes against the participants of the Revolution of Dignity is still very far from complete.

«In General, the events of November 2013 — February 2014, which were held across the country, there are already things from the investigation phase were transferred to the stage of punishment. Issued 18 indictments against 26 people. 84 cases already before the courts. Eleven were referred to the court and hearings will start soon. On sixty three production pre-judicial investigation proceeds», — he noted.

«16 people have been detained in jail, five of them «aunts» and six employees of «Berkut»: five «Berkut» suspected in the killings, one in the beating. In courts hear cases on thirteen «Berkut» and eight «aunts». The total number of persons who reported suspected – 282,» he added.

«All these figures had to be more, here I totally agree with you. And I called them with only one purpose. Must show, on the one hand, that a lie told by those politicians who claim that nothing is being investigated. On the other, this story is actually still very far from completion», — said Poroshenko.

«I understand the impatience of society, especially feel the feelings and emotions of victims, relatives of the dead. The soul hurts. But we need a clarity of processes and sentences that inside their country is recognized by all, even those who were not on the Maidan. And to the outside world, including the European court had no reason to doubt the integrity of the legal cases,» he said.
