The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with representatives of the Federal Chancellor of Germany and President of France by Christopher Heusgenm and Jacques Tiberon in the development of the agreements reached during the recent telephone conversation between the leaders of Ukraine, Germany and France. President Poroshenko thanked Germany and France for a «very important role» that they play in de-occupation of parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as the continuation of the policy of non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea.
The parties expressed concern over numerous violations of the ceasefire regime by militants and an obstacle to the work of the OSCE.
The sides also noted the progress reached by Ukraine on implementing the Minsk agreements and stressed the importance of coordination of action for their full realization. Among the key elements were identified as sustainable ceasefire, withdrawal of Russian troops and equipment, the restoration of Ukraine control over its border and the release of the hostages.

During the conversation they discussed topical issues of peaceful settlement in certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The parties also discussed certain aspects of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union and priorities in the context of European integration of our state.

Recall, December 30, 2015 held telephone talks the leaders of «Norman Quartet» (Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France). The parties agreed on the extension of the Minsk agreements and new meeting of foreign Ministers in January 2015.

January 15, the U.S. assistant Secretary of state for Europe and Eurasia , Victoria Nuland, arrived from Lithuania to Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation, where she met with Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov. The consultations were held behind closed doors. After negotiations, the parties have refrained from comments.
Note, the sanctions and low oil prices threaten Russia’s default. Many experts believe that for the sake of the economy, the Kremlin will replace aggressive with «reconciliatory» policies and can leave the occupied Donbass.
