Poroshenko met with the Ukrainian community of Estonia

After completion of the working program of the visit of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Estonia, he and his wife Marina met with Ukrainian community of Estonia at the Ukrainian Cultural center located in the heart of old Tallinn. About it reports a press-service of the President.

First, the head of the Ukrainian Cultural center Anatoly Lutuk spent a short tour of the complex of buildings was SCANTY and of the Church of the virgin Mary (the Church) in the old town of Tallinn, showed the classrooms, workshops, a printing house.

Then the floor was taken by the leaders of Ukrainian organizations, Faith Skate (Congress of Ukrainians of Estonia) and Mr Sexton (Association of Ukrainian organizations in Estonia), who spoke about the social life of the Ukrainians in this country. Also made permanent members of the indefinite picketing of the Russian Embassy in Tallinn, the Ukrainian intellectuals of Estonia, among them — Ruslan Trochynskyi (the head of the «Holy bonfire», ex-«Haydamaky») and journalist Oleg Native.

The President has also emphasized a prominent role in opposing Russian aggression, the development and reform of the Ukrainian state our Diaspora, including the Estonian community.

«Never before have we had such attention to the Ukrainian Diaspora around the world. In fact, only in recent days the Ukrainian government has begun to treat the community the way she deserves — as a separate, important political factor», — said Poroshenko.

On 23 January the President of Ukraine was in Estonia for an official visit. And on January 24 will go to Finland.
