President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with the family of the deceased journalist Pavel Sheremet and representatives of the international organization Committee to protect journalists. About it reports a press-service of Administration of the President.
At the meeting Poroshenko said that he is ready to do all it can to fully investigate and as well, as journalists, are interested in transparent investigation of the murder Sheremet.
He said that law enforcement agencies should in the near future, to publicly report on the results of the investigation.
Sheremet died July 20, 2016 in Kiev as a result of explosion of the car, which belonged to the co-founder of «Ukrainian truth» and his civil wife Alena Pritula.
The consequence considers five versions of motives of murder: professional work, murder by mistake (instead of the owner of the edition «the Ukrainian truth» Alyona Pritula), critical publications in the edition «Ukrainian truth» and appearances on «Radio Vesti», the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine, as well as conflict relating to privacy Sheremet.
In June 2017 the Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on freedom of speech and information policy Victoria syumar reported that in the pre-trial investigation in the case of Sheremet interviewed more than 3,000 people, including eyewitnesses of the explosion, and seized video from surveillance cameras.
The Committee to protect journalists said they would initiate an international investigation of the murder Sheremet.
