The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the government to take urgent steps to solve the problem of garbage removal from the city now and for the long term. About it informs the press service of the head of state.
The situation in Lviv was one of the topics of the working meeting of the President with Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman.
«Scavenge — the prerogative of local governments. But when there can not be within its competence to solve the issue when its own economic helplessness wrapped in a political matter, and the security of citizens threatened by an ecological disaster — it is necessary to help the citizens. And city that genuinely love tens of millions of Ukrainians, and millions of foreign tourists», — said the President.
In a press-service of the President added that Lviv with a working visit today, January 27, will visit the Prime Minister Groisman.
Meanwhile, the Director of Department of development and operation of housing and communal services, Lviv regional state administration Nazariy Romanchuk announced that on January 26 with the territory of Lviv began to take municipal solid waste that have accumulated in garbage sites. Problems with garbage removal from Lviv have been going on for several months. May 29, 2016 in the village of Velyki hrybovychi where is Lviv landfill, the fire started. The bodies of three of those people are found, and the fourth body could not be found.
