President Petro Poroshenko by his decree approved the Annual national cooperation program NATO-Ukraine for 2016.

«The program should provide a coordinated and integrated cooperation of Ukraine with North Atlantic Treaty Organization in all directions of interaction of our state with the Alliance», — the document says.
It is noted that the Program defines the overall policy objectives of partnership of Ukraine with NATO and areas of cooperation with the Organization in the field of international security (international peacekeeping, combating terrorism, arms control, environmental safety).
In addition, the Program displays the key steps in the process of implementing political, economic and social reforms in the country, the basic elements of policy in the sphere of national security and defense.
«The annual national program of cooperation Ukraine–NATO defines the goals, objectives and practical measures for security sector reform and defense and enhance defense capacity of Ukraine, which will be implemented in cooperation with NATO defined by the Central Executive authorities», — the document says.
According to the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was instructed to ensure coordination of activities of Central bodies of Executive power on the implementation of the Annual national programme.
This decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
