Poroshenko discussed with the Prime Minister of Malta questions bezveza and Association with the EU

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a telephone conversation congratulated the Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat with Malta’s chairmanship in the EU Council in the first half of 2017.

As reported on the official website of the head of state on Thursday 26 January, the leaders discussed the steps required to complete the EU all the procedures to enter a visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine, and stressed the importance of the early entry into force of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

The leaders of both countries also discussed steps to intensify economic cooperation, particularly in agriculture and transport.

«The leaders discussed key issues on the agenda of relations between Ukraine and the EU on a six-month term and coordinated approach to the strengthening of relations between Kiev and Brussels. During the conversation, was expressed confidence that Ukraine will continue to remain among the key priorities of the European Union», — stated in the message.

Poroshenko thanked Muscat for the strong stance and strong support for the EU in the restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Muscat invited Poroshenko to visit Malta on a visit at a convenient time.

As reported, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko welcoming the January 1 beginning of the presidency of Malta to the Council of the European Union, said: «Our priorities — the unshakable unity of the EU, the Association Agreement, bizviz, sectoral integration».
