According to the source, Poroshenko didn’t appoint the judge Slynko. At the same time, the law does not specify the right of the President not to appoint a judge whose candidacy was approved by VSP.

In 2013, the judge Slynko in the composition of the Board of the High specialized court rejected the cassation appeal of Lutsenko and left him in the power of sentence to four years imprisonment handed down by the Pechersk district court of Kyiv in 2012.

In 2014, the General Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings against former employees of the GPU, the Pechersk district court of Kiev and the Ministry of internal Affairs on suspicion in falsification of the investigation in the Lutsenko case, in which the latter received a prison sentence.

March 20, 2014, the Pechersky district court canceled the convictions against Lutsenko, who in 2005-2006 served as head of the interior Ministry of Ukraine.
