Poroshenko and the President of the world Bank discussed implementation of the Ukrainian reforms

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on November 14 in Kiev held a meeting with world Bank President Jim Yong Kim. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian leader.

It is noted that the President of Ukraine «told about the implementation of the judicial reform, in particular, the formation of the new composition of the Supreme Court and the anticorruption court.»

Also Poroshenko said that the Verkhovna Rada this fall approved educational, pension and health reforms.

World Bank President «praised the state of implementation of reforms in Ukraine», noted in a press-service of the President.

«I’m optimistic about the future of Ukraine», – said Jim Yong Kim.

The world Bank President arrived in Ukraine with two-day visit on November 13. He met with Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko.

The world Bank is one of the largest borrowers in the world, the second after the International monetary Fund. In 2014-2015, the Bank has provided Ukraine with loans totaling more than $3 billion.

In February 2017, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the world Bank jointly reviewed the portfolio of projects.

In may the world Bank approved the decision to grant Ukraine a loan of $150 million to support the enterprises of small and medium-sized businesses, export-oriented.
